Recently my friends and I were at FH for some birdwatching. A similar tortoise was seen crossing the road near Telecom Loop. Being a nature lover, my friend got down from his car and in the drizzle, tried to shoo it to the side of the road. Attempts to carry it was futile as it was scared.

I sincerely apologise for not being able to attend the launch. I truly admire Mr. Delong’s concern for the planet’s environment in general and Fraser’s Hill specifically and hope one day I can follow he’s footsteps. To those who attended the launch, the contents of the brochure ” Treasure Trails ” is a huge effort on Mr. Delong’s part to make us as the people of Fraser’s Hill to start realising the importance of preserving our heritage seating by our own doorsteps.

Hi Mr. Wan,

Sorry for the late reply. I'm impressed too with the what you have done.

I just discussed on certain issues that need to be addressed in the FRESH meeting with regards to the outcome of the need analysis. Carell would share with the FRESH committee members before the meeting (28/4).

It is set that Dato' Mike, Ms. Ivy Wong and Ms. Rejani will be there before the meeting to meet the FRESH committee members.

Hi All,

The site looks more impressive and rich now as compared to before. Thanks to the moderators and the rest for the contributions. Just want to point out some comments with the intention to improve further the site.
a. When I browse through wikipedia, I noticed that it was mentioned The International Bird Race is organised by MNS but the fact is that it was organised by FHDC in collaboration with many stakeholders including MNS. We need to rectify it as it may create negatif reaction from FHDC.
b. We need to update the WWF Malayisa on Fraser's Hill (in our associates coloumn). The Nature Education Centre is no longer in existence for example.
c. Could we ask Stephen Hogg to upload article on his discovery on Spider to add the articles to environment-fauna coloumn ?

d. What about other FRESH members or local comments, like their views on FH then and now and so on, could we make an effort to gather news and upload it?

Thank you for your valued comments. Publicity on this blog is still on hold as attempts are made to improve the content. Your suggestions on content and involvement by the Hill People certainly needs attention.

Rejani Kunjappan has submitted these points:
1. I feel that it is important that the bio-diversity of FH which is unique be conserved. As such we must find ways where we can monitor, in collaboration with the relevant authorities, so that there is no poaching, illegal logging, any form of indiscriminate development that can damage the flora and fauna of FH.

2. There is a need to ensure that the relevant authorities are working towards ensuring that the visitors to FH are managed well, so that there is no loss of bio-diversity, indiscriminate littering, pollution etc. Visitors to FH must have an avenue where they can find out ways to be responsible tourists.

3. The nature trails in FH are indeed one of its best attractions. As the weather is cool, people (tourists, scientists etc.) are more inclined to try out these trails. Thus, they must be maintained well so there wont be people getting lost , or taking/damaging the flora and fauna of the trails and the trails can be an educational tool for the layperson to learn more about flora and fauna. This will inspire them to want to conserve and protect FH.

Hi All,

I’m wondering how many of us are aware of this website. Could we send an e-mail or s-mail to all our members so that they will join us to glorify these effort.

For the ‘need analysis’ as per our plan, I managed to secure Mr. Kishore’s time for the 24th of April at 8.30pm in Fraser’s Hill. I’m meeting him tommorrow(14/4)at 9.30am at his place. Rejani, WWF staf and FRESH associate member will be attending the session as well.

As for the composting activity in terms of our visit to Pendang and their visit to FH for sharing technical knowledge and capacity building, I yet to contact them as no dates were fixed yet. I suggest FRESH need to trash out in the coming meeting, 28/4.
